Now you can determine the calorie content of dishes from the photograph.
Dear girls, if you dare not order your favorite dish and fear the high calorie content therein, the invention of University of Pittsburgh researchers will please you. They invented a special gadget that can determine the energy value of any dish.
It simply works. The device itself can be placed in a purse or even in a pocket. A small camera is attached to the chest, which allows you to take a picture of the desired bowl. When the dish is photographed from the menu, the device produces a 3D model from the resulting image, which is the natural size and volume of the dish. The unit also determines the calories it contains.
To date, the gadget can recognize about 17 types of dishes. Researchers continue to work to improve the device.
