About Tiel Restaurant

Nestled in the rich farming hamlet of Auchtertool. The restaurant is within easy reach of all towns and villages and only a 10 minute drive from the town of Dunfermline, birth place of Andrew Carnegie and 3 miles from Kirkcaldy. The home town of Adam Smith and famed for the production of linoleum.

This cosy Restaurant has been refurbished recently to create an eclectic mix of old and new, incorporating wood and slate flooring. The original bar was one from the first RMS Mauretania, that captured the Blue Riband for fastest transatlantic crossing during her 1907 inaugural season. Roaring log fires create a relaxed and informal atmosphere in winter.

Joyce Fox, proprietor, is also an award winning chef.  Her philosophy to food is one purely to use the produce of some Fife farmers, growers and producers, so that our food will never have to travel far to reach your table.  An inspired menu and special board ensure that only the freshest seasonal local produce is used.

Our menus reflect the growing need for Gluten Free and Lactose Free diets, we also cater for Low Sodium diet requirements. We also have a limited children’s menu.
