Photo from zhenskoe-mnenie.ru Finland's capital 31 March will be the world's center for black food. For the first time, the Black Food Festival is held in Helsinki, reports YLE TV and radio company. Black coffee, dark chocolate, blueberries, balsamic vinegar, licorice and the famous black sausage. Black is the natural color of food. That is exactly what the gastronomic event last March has to prove. It is held at the Kellohalli Center. The festival will be attended by individual chefs and bakers as well as entire restaurants. Visitors will be able to taste Mexican and Estonian black garlic, Finnish black bread with mushrooms and crickets, black velvet cake and Argentinian black cheese balls. The festival organizes a competition where the best black food and the best black drink in 2019 will be chosen. The festival is organized by the Black Food Festival company, which in 2016 was founded by Hungarian culinary blogger Regina Borosh. After two years of preparation, the first festival took place in Budapest, after which the idea was exported to Berlin and Tel Aviv. Helsinki became the fourth city, and plans for this year already include New York, Istanbul and London.
